The end of an era
Subway to disband Sub Club. Especially in the post-Jared years, I have felt that Groucho's observation not wanting to belong to any club that would have him as a member captures my feelings about the Sub Club, and yet somehow this news was bittersweet to me, reminding me of those occasions when I would walk into a Subway with an empty wallet, and walk out with a free sandwich. But counterfeiters were selling the stamps by the pound on the, you guessed it, internet. I am not sure what part should dismay first. The guy who thinks "I'll pay for this meth lab by selling fake sub club stamps" or the guy who thinks "I'm hungry, I'll check eBay to see if anyone is selling fake Sub Club stamps." Also, while researching this item, I discovered that while there is no mention of this stamp business on the official site, there are franchise opportunities around the world. I'd planned to post pictures of the different wacky iterations of the Subway idiom, but even more than most chains, it is the same. Jared and his bitches could walk into any Subway anywhere in the world, and have an identical experience:





An Subway insider says that they aren't actually doing away with it, but moving to an online tracking system, like with a credit card type thing.
