Jamming

Heritage_classicWhat with Mr. Badthings scrapping in the corners throwing elbows vis a vis the Julavits donut debacle, I am free to skate around and share the last paragraph of “Seasonal Fruits and Vegetables” from aforementioned Pampille’s Table:

Medlar1b_1"One fruit ripens in November: it is the medlar. It is often misunderstood, though it does the best it can. It is best to make preserves with them – which resembles a jam of dead leaves, and evokes the lonliness of sheperds. The best way to savor it is to feel a little sad and eat it near a fire with a teaspoon, being careful not to break your teeth on the pits."

They do not write cookbooks like that any more.

I am the Tie Domi of the Times-haters.

Oddy enough I used to call my first mother-in-law the meddler (she bore a strking resemblance to your autumnal fruit). Unfortunately, I broke my teeth on the pits.

Is there another food blog that delivers Tie Domi resets with the regularity you find here?
