Los Angeles

Xlosangeles5hx The cinetrix and the Fesser are shunning the fleshpots of Daytona and South Padre, and heading to Los Angeles for Spring Break. Just like the Downtown Athletic Club, keen readers will note a strong east coast bias here at the Cod, which is to say, I know SFA about what to eat in Los Angeles. The last visit was over New Years 2004 -- highlights included a Pasadena Vanilla Coke with a shot of espresso that damn near killed me, and a New Years Day sprint from one end of LAX to the other -- memo to the lads at the NFL combine -- if you know the next day will involve sprinting,  try not to spend the previous evening eating beef and raw garlic at Soot Bull Jeep and drinking Jim Beam -- trust me. So, we're hoping to make better choices this time, and welcome your thoughts on things to eat in LA, fancy or not. We will pretty much be driving around all day, so geography is flexible. Thanks in advance.

Based on the book, I'd recommend Lucques. The Sunday dinners are ridiculously cheap. There's also a famous yucatecan taco stand in Los Feliz with superior cochinita pibil.

That's all I know about LA.
