Anchower, I know. Been traveling. Not much to eat in Charlotte, seems like. But! It is definitely pushing Dallas and ATL for that peculiar lacquered Southern nouveau riche I-started-Botox-when-I-was-34 vulgarity thing.
But in any case, food blogging as we know it is obsolete. The future, via the Hairpin (get it, boys and girls) is Women Laughing Alone With Salad. These women are all so happy to be eating a meal that will keep them skinny. The Cod would find this disturbing even minus a viewing of Black Swan last night. Our cinematical half will have more to say, but lordy. It's not so much a film as a distillation of everything that sucks about growing up female in 21st c. USA - body dysmorphia? Check. Self-harm? Check. A mom so toxic she's made out of fugu liver? Check. All of that boiled down to a crack rock of crazy concentrated enough to fit in a toe shoe. If ballet involved animals instead of girls, it would be illegal. Oh, and, don't forget: BARBARA HERSHEY IS WATCHING YOU MASTURBATE.

A fourth grader at the ice rink expressed how badly she wants to see Black Swan. I suggested to her mother that "Turning Point" might be more age appropriate.

I once tried to find data comparing ballet dancers injury rates to traditional athletes (football, baseball, hockey, hockey) injury rates and sadly, all the research I came across was rather dated.

Color a former ballerina that (has not yet seen Black Swan but!) grew up in Charlotte disheartened.

I have the same views with him, thank you! While each person's point of view is not the same, but I basically agree with him.
