Much of it is still standing, and there is still good eating. There is also still pervasive evidence of tremendous destruction of property and enormous disruption of lives. The sight of blue tarps on roofs and white trailers in driveways as far as the eye could see from the airplane window will be with me for some time. Anyway, dealing with all of this and what I think about it requires wrenches a little bit bigger than the ones I keep in the regular Cod toolbox. Answering the "how was your weekend" question is hard to disentangle from the "what does the future hold for a city you love and once called home that has suffered incalculable devastation" question, but I'm working on it. When I debrief myself, I will let you know.
I had no idea you were from New Orleans. Bon Courage.

I am not, but I lived there for a year in the early 90s.
