Plans to turn this into the go-to spot on the internets for food book stuff keep running into snags, like my day job, things too oafish to ignore, and even actual cooking from time to time. I do hope to get an Xmas book gift roundup together this week, but until then, the folks at eMusic have a useful roundup of food audiobooks. The Bourdain, in particular, is good fun. Hearing him reading his breakout book is a reminder of what made him entertaining in the first place, or as the review puts it:
The Maya Angelou is less over the top than you might imagine. Hard not to listen without remembering the fake Maya Angelou spots for Butterfinger on SNL. Copyright grinches have yanked the original, but this hommage conveys the idea. And finally, these gentlemen from Staten Island have some wise advice for Nora Ephron.*
*Same goes for you, Andy Rooney.
