House music all night long with Michael Ruhlman

Ruhlman shocks the world, tells the coffee nerds that it's time for the percolator. The backlash, via Chow, is pretty great:

This article would be the equivalent of Robert Parker talking up the virtues of Mad Dog 20/20, if Ruhlman was anywhere near Parker's stature. It's garbage.

Then  again, this comment comes from the admin of a site called coffeegeek.com. Those who know me in real life will know that my fondness for French press Bustelo refrigerated overnight makes me not a coffee geek, but I think we need to be alive to the possibility that this is simply Ruhlman's way of telling us that he loves 90s Chicago house. I like iced coffee, so I make Bustelo the night before, let it cool, and then drink it cold. I also drink PBR at home, even when there are no Billyburg douchetards around to whom I wish to establish my bonafides.
