I'm not, like, some kind of a social justice nut, but having just returned from camp, job 1(a) is pulling together notes for an enhanced e-book edition of The Jungle. And then my RSS dresses up like Alanis and drops this in the feed.
I guess the Pure Food and Drug Act and two dollars will get these folks a cup of coffee, but it might be hard for them to hold on to it. Short of setting myself on fire in front of Paula Deen's restaurant, what can a Cod do? Seriously.
I remember being horrified when I read The Jungle.
How is it possible that companies are still doing this?
Aren't there government agencies that are supposed to stop this now?

How can a company even get away with treating people like this??? Especially in America... people should stop buying smithfeild products and hurt the compnay like its hurting its workers.

What is this, the industrial age where workers had no rights. What smithfield is doing is disgusting

What Smithfield is doing is wrong and they know it...If we lived in a world where people did not take advantage of one another I wonder where we would be?
