"Rest in peace" does not seem like the right farewell for Capt. Lou. Perhaps "Reign in Chaos" would be more appropriate. As another cherished, albeit not central, icon of youth shuffles off the scene, it strikes me that getting old is like working your way through college. When you arrive, there are three years worth of older kids who seem legendary or mythical to some degree or another. They graduate or leave and are replaced by kids who are younger than you are, and seem sort of earnest and boring. Real life is like that, except that instead of graduating, you die. Bummer.
