Eater / ZombieGourmet / DJ all opine on the thing where the folks at Eleven Madison Park scan social media for mentions of them and of their guests, and tailor the dining experience:
Some guy traveling to New York tweets, "Burger King in the airport waiting for my flight to NYC. I’ll consider this my amuse-bouche for Eleven Madison Park!" The next day, after the amuse-bouche at EMP, the waiter bring out the man's next course. "But instead of a torchon of foie gras or an heirloom tomato puree, each tiny plate held a single, silver dollar-size lamb burger on a diminutive bun. 'We hope these are better than the one you had at the airport,' he said with a wink."
Yep. As an experiment, The Cod tweeted the following:

Will keep you posted as to results. I was gobsmacked by the meal Addison was kind enough to stand me to back in '07, and I hear that they have gotten better since. One imagines that a chef as talented as Daniel Humm would be a dab hand with a sub, which seem to be the only viable restaurant model right around here.
The conversation on the comments seems to be largely on the creepy/not creepy question, or, in other words, the eleventyhundredmillionth conversation about how Social Media Has Changed Things. But the more salient question for the prize of the USHG litter would seem to be gimmicky/not gimmicky. Folks go to EMP b/c it is a kickass restaurant, not because they want an Xzibit-like experience:
