...that'll be the day I crack that nice bottle of Champagne I've been saving. Or at least, the level of entitlement in the atmosphere will drop a good bit. First, Mr. Latte's leafblower article in the NYer, where one is hard pressed to decide to pray for a pack of syphilitic mountain lions to carry off the folks who pay Mexicans to run leafblowers multiple times a week, in order to keep their lawns in a state of AVN award-winning smoothness, or some sort of lava event for the people who are unhinged by the noises their neighbors make.
And now this -- the good people of San Francisco have banded together to stop an organic coffee truck from opening in Dolores Park. Through grassroots tactics like threats and intimidation. Against a local business, Blue Bottle Coffee, that happens to make really good coffee. This is the most impressive display of entitled community activism since the good people of Cambridgeport banded together to stop... an art museum. I'd been too busy toasting the annual disappearance of Yankee caps to consider which of the two disagreeable teams in the World Series I would vaguely root for. But I have an answer. Go Rangers, creepy prayer meetings or no. Fuck San Francisco. In the eye.
